In March 2018, the last male Northern White Rhinoceros died. Rhinoceros are the second largest land animals and are generally solitary and shy. They are losing their habitats and food to human progress, deforestation and climate change. Poachers continue to hunt rhinoceros for the horns, which are believed to hold medicinal properties.
