Honeycomb Bee Ornament
I make these ornaments in two parts - the first is to cut off the bottoms of BEEr bottles and fire them flat in the kiln. Then I paint the honeycomb design with vitreous enamels and fire them again.
Meanwhile, I sit down at the torch and create BEEds complete with cute little faces and wings. Like the humble bumble, the wings are small, challenging laws of physics.
When both the honeycomb and the BEEds are cool, I use a clear adhesive for glass to secure them together.
