Panda Bears. Who doesn’t love them? They are chill, cute and cuddly, and we celebrate the birth of every panda baby around the world.
For years, scientists and the general public debated whether or not pandas were bears. They don’t eat meat. They don’t growl and are definitely not scary. And silly bears, they don’t hibernate. I’d hibernate if I could, wouldn’t you?
But yes, Virginia, they are bears, at least genetically.
And we can also celebrate that these lovable ying-yang marked furballs are no longer endangered thanks to the conservation efforts and sanctuaries (67 reserves) that protect them and their habitat (5400 square miles).
It seemed important to celebrate the panda in the environment that celebrates them the most, a sanctuary. Please enjoy watching the panda through the window to his safe place.
